About ME
Thirty years of general civil litigation experience plus a side venture in research and development.
As Vice President of Moran Global Strategies in Washington, D.C., Austin Durrer provides clients with strategic advice and government relations services to help them successfully navigate our nation's capital. Austin specializes in representing clients in the technology and defense spaces. The firm was founded by Mr. Durrer's former boss, Congressman Jim Moran.
Holding a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, Mr. Durrer began his government career as a staff assistant for Congressman Jim Moran more than two decades ago. He held virtually every position within the office, becoming Chief of Staff. In that role, he directed a staff of 16 and served as the primary point of contact between the pro-business New Democrat Coalition, the Progressive Caucus, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the White House.
With Mr. Moran's retirement from Congress, Mr. Durrer continued his involvement in the United States government as Chief of Staff and Data Coalitions Director of the US Department of Commerce under the Obama Administration. He later served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Congressman Charlie Crist, and six years later, ran Mr. Crist's campaign for Governor of Florida.
